Under the guidance and direct supervision of the Secretary Social Development, Women Empowerment, Zakat & Ushr the Coordinator Women Empowerment Unit will manage the Women Empowerment Unit at the Social Welfare, Women Development Zakat & Ushr Department-FATA.
The Coordinator Women Empowerment Unit-FATA will supervise the staff of the Women Empowerment Unit-FATA and will work in under the guidance of other officials of the Social Welfare, Women Development Zakat & Ushr Department-FATA and UNIFEM Pakistan, and in collaboration with other government officials to ensure the timely delivery as per the work plan and other commitments of the Department and government of Pakistan.
The Coordinator will ensure the prudent use of the resources and will generate/share financial and physical progress reports with all the concerned.
- Ensures administration and implementation strategies of the Social Welfare, Women Development Zakat & Ushr Department FATA, adapts processes and procedures focusing on achievement of the following results pertaining to the Women Empowerment Unit:
q Presentation of thoroughly researched information for preparation of call for proposals effective application of RBM tools and establishment of management targets. Establishment of the mechanisms to track use of RBM tools and maintenance of RBM database in line with work plan 2010.
q Presentation and preparation of information/ reports for identification of areas for support and interventions.
q Implementation of the UNIFEM partnerships and resources mobilization strategies, preparation of reports.
- Provides effective support to the Secretary Social Welfare, Women Development Zakat & Ushr Department FATA focusing on the achievement of the following results for Women Empowerment Unit:
q Development of thoroughly researched information for formulation of the Women Empowerment Unit-FATA, preparation of project documents’ drafts, work plans, budgets, proposals on implementation arrangements.
q Initiation and implementation of projects undertaken by the Women Empowerment Unit
q Strong coordination with UNIFEM and other UN agencies, government and implementing partners
q Provision of guidance to the executing agencies on routine implementation of projects, tracking use of financial resources.
q Follow up on performance indicators/ success criteria, targets and milestones, preparation of reports.
q Development of concept notes, research material and any knowledge based products to contribute to the women empowerment work being undertaken by the Women Empowerment Unit.
q With support from the Monitoring focal person in the Women Empowerment Unit, facilitate the development and implementation of the Results-Based Monitoring tools and intstruments. Provide feedback to other departments on gender sensitive indicators and monitoring of development work being undertaken in FATA, as and when required.
q Analysis of the situation in working of the Women Empowerment Unit FATA, identification of operational and financial problems, development of solutions.
3. Provides administrative support to the Social Welfare, Women Development Zakat & Ushr Department FATA focusing on achievement of the following results:
q Provide Assistance and support in development and implementation of the Women Empowerment Unit-FATA as per work plan.
q Support the supervisor in achieving the targets against work plan.
q Proper control of the supporting documents for payments, review of projects, Financial Reports.
q Ensure timely reporting both programme and financial
q Maintenance of the internal expenditures control system which ensures that vouchers processed are matched and completed, transactions are correctly recorded and posted in Atlas.
q Timely corrective actions on un-posted vouchers, including the vouchers with budget check errors, match exceptions, unapproved vouchers.
4 . Provides support in creation of strategic partnerships and implementation of the resource mobilization strategy focusing on achievement of the following results:
q Analysis of information on donors, preparation of donor’s profile and database, establishment of contacts with donor counterparts with prior approval of the Secretary Social Welfare, Women Development Zakat & Ushr Department FATA.
q Track and reporting on mobilized resources.
q Liaise on behalf of Secretary Social Welfare, Women Development Zakat & Ushr Department FATA with external contacts with other units; UN Agencies, Partner Organizations and other stakeholders, arrange appointments and schedule meetings for the implementation of the activities with Government Officials, NGOs, and Local Institutions.
Support in creation of strategic partnerships and implementation of the resource mobilization strategy
5. Ensures facilitation of knowledge building and knowledge sharing in the CO focusing on achievement of the following results:
q Organization of trainings
q Synthesis of lessons learnt and best practices in programme.
Sound contributions to knowledge networks and communities of practice.

Ensure adherence to confidentiality protocols pertaining the programmes, projects, initiatives etc of the Social Welfare, Women Development Zakat & Ushr Department FATA and any other government document that the coordinator will come across.
Ready to travel to remote areas of FATA for extended periods as well as travel domestically or internationally upon short notice
