General Functions: Under the overall supervision of Regional Representative and General supervision of the Regional Resource Management Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for: - Assistance and monitoring of the finance and admin related activities of the IOM sub offices, including main office;
- Maintain files of all financial instructions/guidelines issued as reference for completion of work assignments;
- Verify sub-offices reports, including projects petty cash, and ascertain that the equipment,supplies or services they refer to were duly received or provided before proceeding with payment request;
- Ensures all supporting documentation and signatures are obtained before finalizing vouchers;
- After obtaining appropriate approvals, effect payments to suppliers and staff members;
- Assist with the maintenance of an effective banking system including preparing a monthly bank reconciliation;
- Maintain the Petty Cash account of the MRF Islamabad.
- Assist in preparation of monthly / annual financial reports for the sub office
- Bring to the attention of the RRMO and Head of Sub-Office any relevant financial and budgetary issues.
Required Skills
Desirable Qualifications
University degree, preferably in Accounting / Finance / Business Administration. Four years work experience in financial management, accounting and budgeting; good knowledge of accounting system. Field experience in a post conflict environment. Familiarity with financial oversight and public administration. Ability to supervise and direct staff.
Good communication skills. Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, drive for results, respect for diversity, creative thinking. Ability to work effectively and
Harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds.
Languages Thorough knowledge of English. Knowledge of any local languages an advantage.
