How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision of Chief, PMR, NO-D, provide professional technical assistance and support for successful fundraising, contribution management, programme planning and knowledge management of programme/project activities in support of the achievement of country programme goals and objectives.

To make a difference you will be accountable for the following key duties & tasks:

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

  • Enhances positive relationships and partnerships with donors and donor groups by guiding, advising and supporting programme sections in the development of funding proposals, and negotiation of contribution agreements in conjunction with Public Partnership Division, Private Fundraising Division and senior management. Support timely and accurate donor reporting. This includes editing, quality assurance and standardization of periodic, interim and final donor reports produced by programme sections. Support the production of situation reports as and when required.
  • Monitors programme implementation progress and compliance. Monitors the allocation and disbursement of programme funds, making sure that funds are properly coordinated, monitored and liquidated. Takes appropriate recommendations or actions to optimize use of programme funds. Lead contribution management activities to ensure successful administration of received funding. Support development of planning budgets for the Delivering as One programme, multi-year/annual work plans and the Humanitarian Action for Children. Manage the process of development of financial reports for submission to donors and the government in accordance with UNICEF policies.
  • Participate and provide technical support in programme planning, coordination, management, monitoring of the country programme, particularly to bring coherence, synergy and added value to the programming planning and design processes using results-based management and equity approaches to programme design. Provide technical assistance in the process of developing and monitoring of programme indicators and management of the programme planning outline in line with the approved Country Programme Document, Country Programme Management Plan and Annual Management Plans.
  • Provide technical assistance and support in planning and organizing training programmes for the purpose of capacity building and programme sustainability. Undertake capacity development initiatives to train staff and promote the efficient use of corporate systems including financial management/reporting systems for performance monitoring, review and reporting of programme implementation.

To qualify as a champion for every child you will have


University degree in Management, Public Administration, Demography, Statistics or equivalent professional work experience in the donor relations and contribution management combined with advanced university degree in a related discipline.


Minimum of two years progressively responsible experience in programme design, administration, monitoring and evaluation or related field. Specific experience in data analysis and information presentation for decision makers in a social development organization. Incumbent should have good English writing and communication skills.

  • Proven skills in preparing detailed budgets for donor funded programmes, report writing, proposal development, communication, networking, advocacy and negotiation.
  • Proven skills in data analysis, data presentation, and information management.
  • Ability to organize and implement training, including development of curricula and methodologies.
  • Ability to express clearly and concisely ideas and concepts in written and oral form.
  • Computer skills, including internet navigation, and various office applications.


Fluency in spoken English and Urdu. Excellence in written English. Knowledge of the local working language of the duty station is an asset.
