Degree Title:
Middle level education (8 years of schooling). Valid driving license (PSV) Public Service Vehicle. Knowledge of Driving/Traffic rules/regulations.
Minimum Experience:
2 Years(Two years work experience as a driver with safe driving record.)
1. Drives the office vehicle assigned to transport the authorized persons including field travel and for collection/delivery of mail/material, equipment as well as deposit payments in the banks for utility bills. Also meet UNICEF official visitors and staff at the airport. Assists Admin Unit for depositing and collecting passports for visas from Embassies and Government departments. Use VHF radio for reporting purposes when in the vehicle. 2. Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance/cleanliness of the vehicle assigned, checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tyres etc. on a regular basis and carries out minor/simple repairs when required, top keep the vehicle in good running condition. Reports immediately to the supervisor on defects developed/noted in the vehicle for arranging repair. Also reports on satisfactory repair of the vehicle. Ensures to keep the complete tool kit in the vehicle. 3. Maintains vehicle log book, recording trips undertaken, mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes. Be aware of and ensures to take steps required as per rules/regulations (as also listed in the log book) in case of an accident, and demonstrates adherence to security regulations and rules. 4. Performs any other duty assigned by the Supervisor
Required Skills
LANGUAGES
Ability to understand, speak, read and write in English. Fluency in local language an asset.
OTHER SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
Good behavior, courteous and senses of responsibility is critical.
Ability to carry-out minor repairs and skills in initiative/judgement..
Knowledge of the use of VHF radios is desired. An understanding of security regulations is highly recommended.
