Job Description:
Under the overall supervision of the Provincial Project Manager (PPM), the Field Engineer will facilitate a process aimed at ensuring the following:
Responsible for planning, implementation and follow-up of all technical engineering and construction matters related to the Peace & Development programmes infrastructure development components of link roads, bridges, drainage, sanitation, irrigation channels, drinking water supply schemes, street pavements, rehabilitation of government buildings and installation of solar water geysers and water pumps etc.
Supervise and coordinate the identification and implementation of community infrastructure schemes being executed in partnership with CSOs in all target areas;
Develop a work plan engaging all relevant stakeholders regarding community infrastructure schemes;
Develop and exercise monitoring and coordination system for identification, approval and implementation of community infrastructure schemes
Plan and conduct coordination activities engaging the community, government and non-government organizations on infrastructure schemes
Conduct field visits to inspect project sites to ensure quality of work and guide partner organizations during implementation
Prepare monthly progress reports for infrastructure schemes in accordance with the work plan
Take lead for capacity building of project committees on supervisory and repair and maintenance skills
Provide technical advice to the partner organizations on an ongoing basis - Ensure that DRR and environmental concerns are addressed while designing and executing the community based infrastructure schemes.
Coordinate and facilitate installation of solar geysers and solar pumps
Coordinate with the Finance section for timely disbursement of funds to the partner organizations as per agreed Contract/ Agreements.
