Minimum Education:

University degree in business administration, engineering, computer science, statistics or economics (preferably transport economics)
Minimum Experience:
5 Years(At least one year of postgraduate professional experience in one or more of the transportation sectors: port operations, shipping, clearing and forwarding, air operations, dist. management)
Salary Range:
PKR. 70,000 to 100,000/month
- Establish reports based on logistics movements and distribute them according to requirements;
- Define logistics strategy within the WFP policies and procedures and ensure effective integration of logistics operations;
- Advise on logistics management and structures and staffing levels to ensure that they are at all times adequate to meet the requirements of the logistics strategy;
- For field based positions, organise, lead and participate in regional logistics meetings including the local transport committee;
- Manage logistics operations including all logistics assets in order to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of WFP cargoes;
- Identify, mobilise resources, implement and report on special logistics operations;
- Ensure the integrity of transport information, including commodity tracking in WFP standard systems;
- Prepare and maintain transport information for reporting purposes;
- Assess offers for transport and prepare submission to the local transport committee;
- Ensure that accurate and complete accounting, reporting and internal control systems are functioning and that all relevant records are maintained;
- Ensure effective Landside, Transport, Storage and Handling (LTSH) management including project budgetary review and regular LTSH reviews;
- Ensure effective commodity management and quality control;
- Ensure adequate logistics preparedness through contingency planning and continuous logistics preparedness reviews;
- Ensure that all staff are adequately trained, and identify any additional training needs to achieve high working standards;
- Coordinate and provide logistics support to ongoing air, land, sea, or rail operations in the area;
- Coordinate logistics operations with other organisations in the area;
- Manage WFP’s field security arrangements and coordinate any evacuations;
- Support logistics staff in other offices;
- Supervise staff as required;
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Training and/or experience utilising computers, including word processing, spreadsheet and other standard WFP software packages and systems. General knowledge of UN system policies, rules, regulations and procedures governing administration.
